AFTER FIRST SHOWER

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can't believe how good a simple shower can feel, but after nearly 2 months is it beyond words to describe!!! The doctors from Trauma Burn came around this morning to follow up with my legs and said I was cleared to take a shower. Boy did it feel good, it made me feel human again. They also let us know that I will more than likely need another small skin graft on my left leg about the size of a fifty cent piece. We were a little worried that they might do it soon and cause some delay in rehab. However, they truly understand the rehab process, and more importantly what is the overall good for the patient. So, as long as the area does not show any signs of infection (which it has not for over 2 weeks now) they can wait until I am discharged from rehab and then perform the skin graft right before I come home. I am not looking forward to another surgery but I understand the need. Here is something to keep praying about, there is a chance that by waiting the area on my left stump may heal up enough to not need a graft, this is a small chance, but a chance nonetheless. Either way, it will not delay my rehab or my come home date, which we still believe to be 5/14. Yesterday was tough in therapy, but good. I am using muscles I never knew I had and a few that I had forgotten about. But each exercise, stretch, activity, etc. is geared to help me be independent when I get home, and to give me a head start on the continued therapy I will get when back home that will prepare me for my new legs. Well, I am off to a double session of physical therapy, so it is a good thing I updated now as I will probably be too tired to do it afterwards. Jamey has me a little worried as I told him earlier today when he asked if I was sore from yesterday and I said not really. So he is threatening to tell Cindy (my PT) that she needs to work me harder. PLEASE PRAY FOR ME!!!!!!!!! I am afraid I am going to need it! Continued thanks for your prayers and support, you make me feel so very special. Have a blessed day. Love, Molly and Jamey

Molly,

From the short time that I saw you work in Castine's VBS I knew that you were special so it is only right that you should feel special. Keep up the hard work. The book of Ecclesiastes says, "He makes everything beautiful in His time." May that be true for you and Jamey in the days ahead.

One blessing that you may want to count if you haven't already is how much Jamey has demonstrated that he loves and cares for you. He showed that in a time where you could give nothing back. Remember that always. (I promise that Jamey didn't slip me a $50 to write that!)

It has been and will continue to be a blessing to pray for both of you!

Molly French!!! You are special!!!
I know because I worked with you for 5 years at Nicklin and you proved it to me every day!!
I know how you feel about the shower. Mine was only one month compared to your two.But it was heavenly!! It is so good to hear your voice, even though it is through blog-talk.
Love you,

Dear Molly,

LIam and Zach say hi, they are glad you are better and can't wait for you to get home so they can see you! I asked them if they thought it would be wierd to see you. They said they didn't know and then they said "No, Mom", "Mrs. French is still Mrs. French no matter what!" The Bible says perfect praise comes from the mouths of babes and how true that is! You are such a wonderful person Molly, and I have always felt so priveledged that you were the boys teacher and that I got to know you. Sometimes when you meet someone you "just know", and I knew the moment I met you. God has given you that wonderful personality and that "half full" look at life to help so many children, and to carry you through this season of your life! When I talked to Jamey this weekend , he said you were able to speak to your Dad every evening now. I know how it is with my Dad, and I am sure that is such a blessing to you both! We are SO looking forward to you coming home and getting to come and visit! Praying for you and Jamey daily! It is wonderful that you are contrubuting to the blog now!

LOve, the Henningers,

Brad, Toni, Rachel, Liam, and Zach

Molly, I attended the Women of Faith conference in Columbus this past weekend. This year's theme was Infinite Grace, and the whole time, I just could not stop thinking of you and Jamey. So much so that I wanted you to experience it, too. I don't know if you've ever been to Women of Faith, but it's a very powerful and spiritually uplifting time. Since I knew you wouldn't be able to make it this year, I ordered a copy of the conference DVD (they always record the Columbus conference to sell) for you. It won't be ready until August, but I'm hoping it will help you understand a little better what's now in store for the two of you! As soon as they send it to me, I will forward it on to you. So glad to see you doing so much better - our prayers sure are being answered! You certainly are a testimony to the power of prayer! :)

Love, Kendra

Molly,
The best news was that YOU sent out the blog this week! I loved reading Jamey's updates, but it was pretty special to read "I" took a shower today and everything you experienced in your own words! You are a "happy" tired from all of the therapy sessions and know the time until you get home is getting shorter and shorter. We're all thrilled for the great news and know you are giving it your all like always!

Think about you every day,

This Tuesday is our Nicklin Musical. I can remember you in everyone...the smile...the energy! You are "one of a kind" Molly French. This Tuesday, in my heart, I will dedicate my program to you.
May God bless you and be with you. He is so visible in your life and through you has touched ours.
Love you,

My dear friend,
So much has happened in these past two months. I know you must look back and just shake your head in amazement. God is taking us on a journey and though we don't know what lies ahead we are blessed to know WHO leads the way. Thank you for helping me keep focused on what is really important in my life and how much I need to trust the Lord for all my needs and wants. I can't wait to see you and share all that you have learned. Keep working hard and we'll all share the many stories soon. We love you and continually pray for you and Jamey.

It is so good to hear the progress you are making, and the specific needs for prayer getting smaller and smaller. GOD IS GOOD!

Molly, I want to tell you that last Saturday evening I went to the Toastmasters speech contest in Cincinnati and from a couple of tables over I saw Jamey talking to a lot of different people. I felt the need to tell him I'd been reading your blog and kept you and him and your family in my prayers. As I walked up to his table I waited while he finished his sentence and he said to his table companions "I know, she's amazing. She is just amazing. It's just unbelievable what's she doing, she amazed me everyday." What a wonderful tribute to you from your husband.

I will continue to pray for you and maybe someday meet you as you are sharing your story and your faith in our awesome God. You are an inspiration to all of us, and it's easy to tell you are a beautiful person inside and out. Your spirit in contagious!

Molly & Jamey:
My wife Sheryl has been dealing with RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) in her foot. A slight sprain in January set up a cycle of pain that needed to be broken.
[xrays, cat scans, and MRIs showed no physical damage]
After attempts at physical therapy to break the pain cycle, attempts at epidural injections, and (finally) a "pain pump" that provided a continuous anesthetic flow to the foot, she is able to walk on it again (but it still hurts).
Our family has felt the same kinds of pressures - especially of the "unknowns" - that you have. And Sheryl can relate to the wonderful feeling of taking a shower again.
We continue to pray for complete deliverance for Molly and the family (it IS a group effort, isn't it?)
Best wishes as we enjoy this better weather.
